Media Release for MSU's Professional Writing program
In the fall of 2011, the Professional Writing department requested my publications class to draft a media release introducing prospective students to the program. |
Feature article on East Lansing's C.E.R.T
In February 2011 I wrote a feature article on East Lansing's Community Emergency Response Team for MSU's Journalism program. In order to complete this piece, I recorded City Hall meetings, interviewed both East Lansing emergency response personnel and East Lansing residents, and toured the program's training modules.

- Alaskan Adventure Itinerary |
In Fall 2012 I copyedited a portion of the fantasy manuscript Mother's Night, the second entry in Richard Zimdars's "Baby Ballers" series. I also drafted a memo to the author that analyzed the edits made and gave further suggestions. In-text edits and comments were made using Microsoft Word's track changes feature.

This project was completed in Fall 2012 and required both copyediting and reformatting of the Alaskan Adventure itinerary, which is run by Tom's Christian Tours.
In-text edits and comments were made using Microsoft Word's track changes feature. |
Collaboration
SSML Brochure
The Society for the Study of Midwestern Literature (SSML) is a non-profit organization aimed at studying Midwestern literature that requested a brochure aimed at advertising their next conference. I served as assistant project manager which included making making work schedules, coordinating tasks between designers and editors, and writing status update reports to our Project Leader.

Fork in the Road Diner Brochure
In Fall 2011, I was part of a design team asked to design and produce an advertisement brochure for a startup restaurant in the Lansing area, Fork in the Road Artisan Diner. I was the writer on this team so it was my job to take the mission statement and messages that the owners of this establishment were trying to convey and put their ideas on paper.
